Who does the planning?
Friday, January 12th, 2007When couples are planning their wedding day, they often seek advice about ‘time lines’: how much time do we need after the ceremony and before the drinks are served and the party begins?
There is a simple formula to follow:
- Work backwards
- What time do you want the food to be served?
- Leave approximately an hour between this time and the end of the ceremony,
So, for a 6.45 pm food service, you would plan a 5.00 pm ceremony.
Most civil ceremonies last about 15 minutes. The documents signing takes about 15 minutes. So, allocate about 30 – 45 minutes for the complete ceremony.
